Hi-Tec Sports and Magnum Form Individual
Companies, Welcome New Team Members

September 14, 2010 – (Modesto, CA) – Hi-Tec Sports and its sister brand, Magnum USA, announced today the official transition into two separate companies. Since the inception of Magnum USA in 1982, both companies have functioned as one corporation with shared assets. With each company in a prime position for expansion, Co-Chief Executive Officers Bill Berta and Bob Kaiser will now assume individualized roles as the sole CEO for each brand —with Berta leading Hi-Tec Sports USA, and Kaiser taking the reigns of Magnum USA.

As a result of the brand expansions, both companies are making personnel transitions to better serve each entity. Brett Weitl, long-time marketing director for Magnum USA and Hi-Tec Sports USA, is shifting gears to focus his role exclusively as the marketing director for Magnum USA. Magnum USA also welcomes Tyler Pientok as its new national sales manager. Pientok joins the Magnum USA team with extensive sales experience, thanks to his prior work with leading brands in the tactical market.

“Magnum is in the perfect position to pursue untapped opportunities and accomplish exponential growth,” Kaiser said. “We welcome Tyler to the team, and we congratulate Brett on his revamped position. Their experience, enthusiasm and dedication will help strengthen our brand’s position as the global leader in tactical footwear.”
Hi-Tec Sports USA also announced the new appointment of industry veterans, Erika Bruhn and Kirk Nichols. Bruhn will take the lead as Hi-Tec’s marketing director. Nichols joins Hi-Tec as the U.S. vice president of sales.

“Over the past few years, Hi-Tec and Magnum USA have achieved great strides in product and technologies, making this an opportune time for both brands to grow and expand individually,” Berta said. “We’re excited to welcome Erika and Kirk to the Hi-Tec team.
