Magnum USA Honors Fallen CHP Officer

Modesto, CA — In honor of fallen CHP officer Earl H. Scott, Magnum USA has made a corporate financial contribution to the CHP 11-99 Foundation. The team at Magnum USA holds law enforcement personnel in very high esteem, and is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of CHP Officer Scott.

Officer Earl H. Scott was shot and killed in the line of duty on Friday, February 17, 2006 while making a traffic stop on Highway 99 in Stanislaus County , CA . The suspect opened fire as the officer walked back to his patrol car, fatally striking Officer Scott. Columbus Allen was later arrested and charged with murder.

The donation to the CHP 11-99 Foundation is intended to help honor, and assist the families of, those CHP officers who have had their lives taken from them on the job. The CHP 11-99 Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization created to provide benefits to California Highway Patrol employees and their families in times of need, generally in response to prolonged illness or death. In the coded jargon of the California Highway Patrol, the call for an officer needing assistance is 11-99.

Magnum Boots and Modesto CHP share a neighborly friendship, as both offices are located within the same professional park.

Officer Scott had served with the California Highway Patrol for 5 years. He is survived by his father, stepmother, and sister.
