Magnum Boots USA remains proud to call Modesto, Calif. its home, as it has for nearly 30 years. Although Magnum has operated as the sister company to Hi-Tec Sports, Magnum sales now account for over 40% of global company volume. With both brands in a prime position for growth, the investment has been made to increase focus by separating the companies.

Our Modesto location will be the full headquarters for Magnum USA, as well as the operational hub for Hi-Tec USA. Fifty-nine of our 61 employees will stay in Modesto, many of whom are shared between both companies. The new Hi-Tec sales, marketing and administrative team will grow and expand in Portland, Ore.

Companies, Welcome New Team Members
September 14, 2010 – (Modesto, CA) – Hi-Tec Sports and its sister brand, Magnum USA, announced today the official transition into two separate companies. Since the inception of Magnum USA in 1982, both companies have functioned as one corporation with shared assets. With each company in a prime position for expansion, Co-Chief Executive Officers Bill Berta and Bob Kaiser will now assume individualized roles as the sole CEO for each brand —with Berta leading Hi-Tec Sports USA, and Kaiser taking the reigns of Magnum USA.

As a result of the brand expansions, both companies are making personnel transitions to better serve each entity. Brett Weitl, long-time marketing director for Magnum USA and Hi-Tec Sports USA, is shifting gears to focus his role exclusively as the marketing director for Magnum USA. Magnum USA also welcomes Tyler Pientok as its new national sales manager. Pientok joins the Magnum USA team with extensive sales experience, thanks to his prior work with leading brands in the tactical market.

“Magnum is in the perfect position to pursue untapped opportunities and accomplish exponential growth,” Kaiser said. “We welcome Tyler to the team, and we congratulate Brett on his revamped position. Hi-Tec Sports USA also announced the new appointment of industry veterans, Erika Bruhn and Kirk Nichols. Bruhn will take the lead as Hi-Tec’s marketing director. Nichols joins Hi-Tec as the U.S. vice president of sales.

Modesto, Calif. (April 14, 2010) — Academy Sports + Outdoors recently teamed up with Magnum Boots USA, the official footwear and clothing supplier of the Panther Racing team during a month-long promotion that sent one lucky winner to the April 11, 2010 Birmingham IndyCar race and raised $7,048 for the National Guard Youth Foundation.

Winner Mr. Aaron Hambright of Irondale, Alabama had the unique experience of suiting up with the Panther Racing Team pit crew in the #4 National Guard car with driver Dan Wheldon at the wheel. Mr. Hambright was able to shadow the pit crew team for the day prior to the race as they got the car ready for race day. Mr. Hambright received the very rare opportunity of riding in an official IndyCar two-seater, and experienced the track at every turn first hand.

“It was one of the best things I’ve done in my life”, said Mr. Hambright, the winner of the Pit Crew Experience. “Riding in the car was like the most intense rollercoaster I’ve ever been on.”
